Program Description
The National WWII Museum, "America's National World War II Museum," explores this turning-point battle in the war in Europe. Study how teamwork, planning, ingenuity, and courage won the day for the Allies in WWII. Receive classroom-ready lesson plans and discuss WWII teaching strategies with the museum's education staff.
Program Format
Museum education staff will review the materials in the workshop packet, lead teachers through several lesson plans, and present video of D-Day. Teachers will debate several discussion questions meant to show students the relevance of this history to their lives.
Objectives
Teachers will explore the history, geography and importance of D-Day.Teachers will explore the lessons of teamwork, optimism, courage, and sacrifice that D-Day can teach students today.Teachers will discuss creative strategies for sharing this material with their students.
