Foreign Language Tech: Less Work for You, More Learning for Them

Participants will learn how to use a simple interactive media format and free resources available on the web to provide students with the skills to teach others what they learn themselves about ANY foreign language component. The students LOVE the team-based, hands-on, scavenger-hunt style preparation work. Then, the technology of Microsoft Photostory allows students to share with others what has been learned, using cutting-edge presentation techniques. This is project-based, student-driven instruction at its finest!

Tips and tricks for Pricing Educational Programs

Sometimes educators struggle when it comes to knowing how to price programs that are intended to be cost-recovery or generate revenue. In this workshop practical tips will be offered to help you understand what factors to take into account when it comes to valuing and pricing your programs appropriately.

Knowing how to price programs can be tricky. Prices may depend on your market, your costs, your location and a variety of other factors. In this session we will explore some of these factors. While there is no one “magic formula” for knowing how to price programs, there are some strategies.

We will also talk about some philosophical and ethical challenges faced by many educators who dislike the idea of having to charge for their programs, but find themselves in a position where they are required to do so. We will talk about why this tension exits in the educational field and discuss ways to handle it.

This is an interactive session and participants will be asked to engage in thoughtful conversation on the topic.

Participants should leave with practical ideas that they can use right away.
