Internet2 **FREE from INFOhio**


Start the new year by connecting to the INFOhio videoconferences for some free afterschool professional development! The 2009 theme is Tools for Student Success and the first session will be on Jan. 14, Internet2 and Ohio Schools: A World of Resources. 3:30-4:30. Internet2 is the foremost U.S. advanced networking consortium. Now, the schools of Ohio are connected to the Internet2 network, whose primary purpose is research and education using cutting edge technology. This presentation will discuss how you and your schools can now access the resources of Internet2. Learn what Internet2 connectivity, collaboration and content means for Ohio students and classrooms. Find out about resources that will enhance teaching and learning through a variety of online, real-time, authentic learning experiences.The session presenter is Paula Nespeca Deal, INFOhio Consultant for Internet2. Program Description
The Emerging Technology Game is a fun and highly interactive look any some of the cutting edge technologies making their push into our classrooms. In this game show format; educators will be competing in an exciting game of Hollywood Squares with some of the internet’s top characters as they take a closer look at different technologies. Each topic will include an overview of the technology its applications and uses for multiple grade levels and subject matters. If you are looking for a lecture of content for teachers, this program is not for you! Participants will volunteer or be volunteered to interact with the presentation! Who said learning can’t be fun :)

In this one hour videoconference educators will get an overview and the educational uses of the many different applications available for free from Google.
