Assessment for Learning Institute


Presented by the SMART Consortium & WVIZ/ideastream

This is a three-day professional development session designed to explore Rick Stiggins' work on sound assessment practice and the principles of assessment for learning. Participants will become acquainted with Assessment for Learning/Assessment Training Institute materials and work through the process of building learning teams in their districts.

Wednesday, March 9, Wednesday, April 27 and Thursday, May 26 for 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
$450 per day per site

Program Description Do you have several questions about Interactive Video Conferencing such as: How much does it cost? How do I book a class? What will my students experience during an IVC class? and more more. Then the IVC Teacher Demo is the class for you and your fellow staff members. During this FREE IVC demo an MHS presenter will answer all your questions about IVC, give an overview of the program MHS has to offer and demonstrate an IVC class for your group.
Program Format 1. Demonstration of an IVC Class or classes chosen by your group from the classes provided by the Minnesota Historical Society. In which Teachers and administrators become students in the class.
2. Overview of current IVC classes offered by the Minnesota Historical Society Classes.
3. Overview of what each class has to offer for students and educators.
4. Time for Questions.
Objectives Participants will understand the Minnesota Historical Society's Interactive Video Conferencing classes it has to offer.
Participants will understand how the Minnesota Historical Society offers interdisciplinary classes for students and teachers and the interactivity involvement for each class.
Participants will understand the goals and advantages of the Minnesota Historical Society's Interactive Video Conferencing classes.
National Standards to which this program aligns Minnesota Historical Society Staff will explain how their Interactive Video Conferencing Classes help achieve several national standards.
State/Regional Standards to which this program aligns Minnesota Historical Society Staff will explain how their Interactive Video Conferencing Classes help achieve state standards for MN, OH, TX, CA and states you request.
