Program Description In this program, the presenter will:
*Make sure the participants know the basics of the functions of the IVC equipment: making a call, controlling camera and microphone, multi-point calling.
*Trouble shooting common problems
*Determine the main area of interest (i.e., distance classes, virtual fieldtrips, collaborative projects)
*Provide participants with resources to get started in their main area of interest
*Discuss areas of concern for the participants
*Discuss other collaborative technologies that support IVC to engage students
*Make sure we have fun!
Program Format This program is developed to demonstrate best practices in use of IVC in the classroom. Therefore, I will make it as interactive and engaging as teachers need to be when using it with students.
Objectives The participant will:
*demonstrate basic skills of videoconferencing
*engage in discussion about best practices and where to find resources
*become more comfortable using the equipment
*be prepared to use this tool in engaging students with learning
