Program Description | Adults with limited reading ability face many challenges functioning in society as they attempt to manage their finances and succeed in the workplace. This course introduces adults to concepts and skills related to financial management at home and at work. It is written at approximately the 4th grade reading level. However, each reading passage is accompanied by sound clips read at two different paces. Vocabulary and basic academic skills are reinforced throughout each unit. Adults who read at the 3rd grade level should be able to progress well through each unit: US Currency, Banking Terms, Check Writing, The Account Ledger and Budgeting. This course is offered on a CD with interactive content. Adults with limited reading ability require a lot of guidance and support as they initiate something new in their lives. Although they will be able to understand the content, they will need help completing assignments on their computers or offline, as determined by their instructor. Course material is formatted in interactive PDF format, and, therefore can be printed if desired. | |
