Britannica for Middle & High Schools
November 8, 2007, 3:30-4:45 p.m. Presenter: Hilit Kravitz, Director of
Professional Development, Encyclopaedia Britannica
Need help doing research projects with your students? Looking for ways to
integrate technology into your classroom? Want to show students how to get
answers to their questions, whether at school or at home? Come join us for a
hands-on INFOhio IVDL training workshop on Britannica Online School
Edition, focused on middle/junior high school and high school materials and
tools. Middle/Junior High and High School teachers and librarians are
invited to this workshop where we will explore Britannica's collection of
reference materials (in Spanish too!), maps and photos, Internet sites,
magazine articles, and primary source documents, plus an expanded collection
of video and media content for online viewing or download. The workshop will
also explore Britannica’s new Workspace tool that lets students and
teachers store their own research materials online. Britannica includes
teacher resources like the Ohio Academic Content Standards and student
activities for Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies subjects.
Integrate technology at your school with Britannica Online School Edition!
